A leaked plot for the new Predator: Badlands movies happens to sound a lot like Disney’s The Acolyte.
The Acolyte follows twin sisters, Osha and Mae, who leave their home and go off on their own.
Well, according to a plot leak, Predator: Badlands, from Disney’s 20th Century Studios, follows twin sisters, Thia and Tessa, who leave their home and go off on their own.
One pair of twins took on the Jedi and the Sith. The other are taking on a Predator.
The Acolyte has been canceled after one season thought due poor viewership as it is known The Acolyte is the least-watched Star Wars series on Disney+.
What does the Predator: Badlands leak say?
The Predator: Badlands leak comes via fan site AVPGalaxy who got their hands on a casting call. The site also says Predator: Badlands is now filming in New Zealand under the working title “Backback.”
Here is the synopsis:
A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines delves into the intricate bond of two very different sisters, their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue divergent paths and missions.
According to the plot info, Predator: Badlands follows Thia and Tessa who could be in their mid 20s to mid 40s. The casting call describes the characters as identifying as female or non-binary (The Acolyte also used pronouns). Similar to The Acolyte, it also sounds as if the twin sisters are at odds with one another:
[THIA/TESSA] – This casting is for a dual character, and describes both characters. Character identifies as female or non-binary, open ethnicity, mid 20s – mid 40s. Thia has spent most of her life in a laboratory and is now embarking on her first big adventure in the world. She is incredibly smart, witty, enthusiastic, and unflappable. She has an innate disregard for danger, not because she’s fearless, but simply because she’s naive. Strong comedy chops required. // The other sister, Tessa, has a militant intensity when it comes to achieving her family’s goals and mission objectives. She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister.
What is Predator: Badlands about?
Disney hasn’t officially announced that Predator: Badlands has started filming. The cast actually hasn’t been officially announced as well. A rumor has also said Badlands takes place in the future.
It has been reported Elle Fanning is up for the lead role, so similar to Amandla Stenberg playing both Osha and Mae in The Acolyte, Elle Fanning could be playing both Thia and Tessa in Predator: Badlands.
However, Elle Fanning posted last week on Instagram that she started filming Sentimental Value, so maybe she isn’t in Badlands.
The film also doesn’t have a release date.
Dan Trachtenberg returns to direct who directed the previous installment, Prey, that was release don Hulu starring Amber Midthunder as a Comanche warrior set 300 years in the past who battled a highly evolved alien predator.
