Gina Carano has shared her first extended personal message since settling her lawsuit with Disney, opening up about the relief she feels, the years-long battle she endured, and how she’s now focused on moving forward with her life and career.
Fans are also hoping she returns to Star Wars.

“A Thousand Pounds Off My Shoulders”
In a post on X, Carano thanked fans for the outpouring of support and explained why she’s not rushing into interviews just yet:
“Thank you for all your requests for interviews. I just haven’t felt like my feet have landed in order to give proper respect to the conversation. I’ll do so when the time is right for me.”
She said she’s taking another day to relax and celebrate before getting back to work, adding:
“It’s been 5 years in this battle… The support I’ve received is mind blowing and has been for years, it fills my heart with such warmth.”

The Toll on Family and Friends
Carano revealed how her firing from The Mandalorian impacted her loved ones, sharing that Star Wars toys — including Baby Grogu dolls — were quietly put away by family members, and that people even apologized to her for visiting Disneyland or subscribing to Disney+.
She made it clear she doesn’t want that kind of boycott on her behalf anymore:
“Bring the Grogu’s out, I’m ok! I do believe positive change is happening. We will see.”

Moving Past the Hate
Carano said the backlash she endured no longer affects her:
“The hate doesn’t even make me blink anymore… I’m immune to that heat now. Refined by fire… I consider myself blessed.”
She also reflected on the losses of loved ones over the past few years, saying it’s inspired her to focus on living fully and without ill will:
“Do not take this life for granted and do not harbor ill will towards others, this life is far too precious and short.”

Focus on Health and a New Beginning
Along with her legal victory, Carano revealed she’s lost 50 pounds in 2025 as part of a goal to reclaim her physical health after the stress of the past several years:
“It’s hard work but so very healing… an investment in lifestyle which I will adopt and evolve for the rest of my life.”
She ended her post on a lighthearted note, saying she was off to bake muffins before “diet starts Monday” — a reminder that she’s embracing balance in her new chapter.
Thank you for all your requests for interviews. I just haven’t felt like my feet have landed in order to give proper respect to the conversation. I’ll do so when the time is right for me.
