Superman Nicolas Cage Rumored For ‘The Flash’

The Superman Nicolas Cage is rumored for the upcoming The Flash movie that will also feature the return of both the Ben Affleck Batman and the Michael Keaton Dark Knight.

The rumor comes from scooper Daniel RPK (via Reddit) who also claims The Flash movie will visit multiple worlds and that WB is interested in including “a lot of crazy cameos.”

Among those possible crazy cameos could include the Nicolas Cage Superman from the defunct Superman Lives movie, Tom Welling back again as Clark Kent from Smallville, Grant Gustin’s The Flash from The CW TV series, and all the previous Batman in the movies which would also include Christian Bale, George Clooney, and Val Kilmer (maybe they could somehow include Adam West as well).

“I am hearing The Flash will visit multiple worlds in his film that WB is interested to include a lot of crazy cameos,” claims the rumor. “Not sure which will make the cut but some of the ideas/possibilities are Nick Cage’s Superman, Tom Welling’s Clark, Grant Gustin’s Flash and all the previews [sic] Batman on film.”

What is interesting is that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the possibility of Nicolas Cage appearing as Superman, as the recent Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover in the Arrowverse looked at using the Nicolas Cage Man of Steel.

“You know, to be honest with you, because I never want to lie on these things, that was…yeah, I actually did…we did reach out to Nic Cage,” confirmed Marc Guggenheim.

Batman Val Kilmer

The Flash could have lots of “crazy cameos”

Something else that is pretty interesting is that Val Kilmer previously confirmed involvement in the recent DC FanDome virtual convention, but for some reason, he never appeared during the event. It was speculated that Kilmer was involved with a panel about Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever movie as rumors have it the “Schumacher Cut” might get released on HBO Max, but maybe this also means Val Kilmer will be back in The Flash.

Of course, Tom Welling did return as Clark Kent in Crisis On Infinite Earths, which wasn’t well-received by fans at all, so maybe they will make it right in The Flash movie.

Don’t forget Crisis also bridged The CW Arrowverse with the DCEU when Ezra Miller crossed over in the scene with Grant Gustin, so the favor could be returned on the big screen.

Barbara Muschietti, producer and sister to the director, did also recently tease that The Flash “is the superhero of this film because he is the bridge between all of these characters and timelines.”

The flick is also described as a DC Multiverse movie as the film has been described as following Barry Allen breaking the bonds of physics to crash into various parallel dimensions, where Barry will encounter different versions of DC’s superheroes and also that Barry goes back in time to save his mother which causes changes to the timeline where The Flash connects to a new universe, the Michael Keaton Batman ’89 universe.

The Flash has a June 3, 2022 release directed by Andy Muschietti.
