Superman: First Look At Nicholas Holt As Lex Luthor, Mister Terrific In Action

James Gunn continues filming his big Superman movie starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel in Cleveland, Ohio where set images and video reveal a first look at Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Ed Gathegi as Mister Terrific in action.

We’ve seen set images and video showing off David Corenswet as Clark Kentsuited up with Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and members of the Daily Planet newsroom, as well as a big spoiler scene with Frank Grillo.

Nicholas Hoult revealed as Lex Luthor

While filming Day 3 on Wednesday, Nicholas Hoult is revealed as Lex Luthor where he is bald and a bit bloodied.

We can guess that whatever attack is happening in Metropolis, Lex has somehow gotten himself involved and maybe got hurt as a result.

Previous set images showed military vehicles labeled “LuthorCorp,” so it could be that LuthorCorp has some sort of black ops contract with the government.

Ed Gathegi as Mister Terrific in action

For Day 4, on Thursday, a scene shows Ed Gathegi as Mister Terrific in action, courtesy Cleveland.com.

The scene shows that Mister Terrific is apparently trying to find something which leads him to a local pet store in Metropolis.

Then it looks as if Mister Terrific finds what he is looking for, which my guess could be some sort of alien that will be shown via CGI in the final version of the film. Perhaps that is the “attack” on Metropolis?

Check out additional footage below, and James Gunn recently posted a pic with the cast.

James Gunn’s Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
