Netflix has released a bunch of first look images at Stranger Things 4 as the series returns with its first part on May 27.

The 9-episode season is split into two parts, with the second part dropping on July 1.

The reason given for the split is that Stranger Things 4 has a longer run time twice that of any season.

It has also been announced that Season 5 will be the last.

Stranger Things 4 is officially described as: “It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

The series, created by the Duffer Brothers, stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman. The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Paterson serve as executive producers.
