Steven Spielberg has officially revealed the title and first teaser for his long-awaited UFO movie.
The film is titled Disclosure Day and will be released exclusively in theaters on June 12, 2026, through Universal Pictures.
Watch the teaser below.

First Teaser Positions Film as Global Event
The first teaser frames Disclosure Day as a world-changing moment centered on humanity discovering proof that we are not alone. It opens with the question, “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?”
The teaser goes on to state, “This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people,” before closing with the message that the world is drawing closer to Disclosure Day.

Steven Spielberg Returns to Original Sci-Fi
Disclosure Day is an original film created and directed by Spielberg, marking his return to large-scale science fiction.
The project recalls his earlier genre-defining work, including Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and War of the Worlds, which focused heavily on human reaction and emotional impact rather than pure spectacle.

David Koepp Reunites With Spielberg
The screenplay is written by David Koepp, who has previously collaborated with Spielberg on Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Those films combined to earn more than $3 billion worldwide. Koepp also wrote the screenplay for 2025’s Jurassic World Rebirth.

Cast Features Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, and Colman Domingo
The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.
Universal is positioning the project as a prestige sci-fi event, pairing a high-concept premise with an award-winning cast.
Production and Release Details
Disclosure Day is produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Adam Somner and Chris Brigham serving as executive producers.
Spielberg’s most recent film, The Fabelmans, was released in 2022 and received seven Academy Award nominations.
