Star Wars brings back two fan-favorite bounty hunters — Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane — in the third animated anthology series, Tales of the Underworld, premiering May 4, 2025, on Disney+.
Ventress and Bane Return
The new Tales series follows Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, this time focusing on characters operating on the fringes of the galaxy. Tales of the Underworld features six episodes that revisit Ventress and Bane in the wake of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire.
Ventress, a former Sith assassin, now gets a second chance at life. She’s seen in the trailer cloaked and armed with her yellow lightsaber, facing a red-bladed opponent while helping a Padawan survive post-Order 66. Cad Bane, still the cold, calculating gunslinger, ends up in a confrontation with a former ally who’s now working as a marshal.

A Look at the Trailer and Poster
The trailer teases plenty of action and tension. Ventress is shown in hiding, still hunted, while Bane is caught in another blaster standoff with steelpeckers circling above — a nod to his showdown in The Book of Boba Fett. Watch below.
The official poster introduces more characters, including the return of Latts Razzi from The Clone Wars. The artwork follows the visual theme of the previous anthologies, with the credit symbol taking the spotlight this time, after the Jedi and Imperial symbols from the past series.
Cast and Crew
Nika Futterman and Corey Burton reprise their roles as Ventress and Bane. The voice cast also includes Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez.
Dave Filoni created the series and acts as supervising director and executive producer. Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck also executive produce. Josh Rimes is co-executive producer, with Alex Spotswood as senior producer and Matt Michnovetz writing.
Streaming May 4
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld premieres May 4 on Disney+. It continues the exploration of untold stories that expand the Star Wars universe through the eyes of characters outside the Jedi and Sith spotlight.
