Star Wars: Episode IX officially finished filming today as director J.J. Abrams lets the news be known by posting an image of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac.
“It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all,” Abrams tweeted.
The image features three of Abrams’ new Star Wars characters that he introduced in The Force Awakens with Rey, Finn and Poe. Worth a mention is that Disney and Abrams have still yet to reveal the official title or drop the first footage.
Star Wars: Episode IX gets released December 20, 2019 starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian. The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for The Force Awakens.
