Anson Mount joins Star Trek: Discovery Season 2.
The actor who recently starred as Black Bolt on Marvelâs Inhumans will play Captain Christopher Pike.
Filming on Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 looks to begin later this month, and CBS has yet to announced when the series returns.
Plot details for Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 include that it will not be about the war and will feature nods to the original Star Trek series.
âThe second season is not a war season⊠we are very interested in tackling themes of science versus faith. Weâll be nine years before [Star Trek: The Original Series] and there are things from TOS that we want to do some nods to,â co-showrunner Aaron Harberts said.
Star Trek: Discovery airs on the CBS All Access digital streaming service with Season 1 now available to watch.
