What are the rumors?

Mr. Negative is the villain

The rumors offer that Mr. Negative is a villain of Spider-Man 4 along with an unknown female character.

Steven Yeun playing Mr. Negative

Via The Hot Mic, John Rocha says that Steven Yeun has been rumored to be playing Mr. Negative in Spider-Man 4, which is titled Brand New Day. Recall that Steven Yeun was originally going to play Sentry in Thunderbolts. However, that was scrapped in favor of a more comic-accurate take with Lewis Pullman. Following losing the role, Rocha says that Yeun has said he is attached to another Marvel movie, so Spider-Man 4 could be it.

In the comics, Mr. Negative is a villain and crime boss with a dual personality. His dark side has powers to manipulate Darkforce energy and corrupt others with his touch, while his “positive” persona poses as the charitable Martin Li.

Worth a mention is that directing Spider-Man 4 happens to be Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton. Simu Liu also happens to be rumored who is confirmed to be returning in Avengers: Doomsday.
