Just like I told you back in January, Sony’s Spider-Man “spinoff” universe looks to be over. Now it’s claimed Sony has put a pause on things, and even that a planned Knull movie has been canceled.
The info comes via scooper Daniel RPK who says: Sony has reportedly paused all plans for their live-action ‘SPIDER-MAN’ spin-offs… including their planned Knull project.

Signs the Spinoff Universe Was Falling Apart
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise as it follows massive bombs from Sony Marvel including Kraven, Madame Web, and Morbius. Even the two Venom sequels came nowhere near the first one. The fact is, the movies just aren’t any good.
Venom 3 features that Knull post-credit scene, but it really went nowhere and felt like it was thrown in as an act of desperation. Venom 3 brought in the least amount at the box office of the three movies.
Back in January also saw it learned that Sony had canceled a planned release date for a Marvel movie.
It’s also known that the exec in charge of Sony Marvel has exited Sony.

What’s next for Sony Marvel and Spider-Man?
Reports and rumors claim Sony is shifting focus to Spider-Man 4 and the third Spider-Verse movie.
The word is Sony plans to prioritize “Spider-Man” over the spinoff characters. That includes multiverse versions like the Nicolas Cage Spider-Noir series — and possibly more.
