Son Of Original Director Slams Woke Disney Snow White

The backlash continues for the upcoming live-action Snow White movie starring Rachel Zegler, as the son of the original director of the 1937 animated movie slams Disney and the new film.

91-year-old David Hand whose father director the original animated movie blasted Disney for “making up new woke things” and even said his father and Walt Disney “would be turning in their graves.”

Mr. Hand also told The Telegraph that it is “insulting” what Disney “may have done with some of these classic films.”

“I mean, it’s a whole different concept, and I just totally disagree with it, and I know my dad and Walt would also very much disagree with it,” Hand said. “I think it’s pathetic that people feel that way… these are art forms in the world of film today.”

Disney has no respect

Rachel Zegler who stars as the new Snow White has gone on record that she doesn’t like the original movie and admitted they changed everything about the film adding that in the original Prince Charming is a stalker and that in the new version that Snow White is a leader and the film isn’t a love story.

The new movie also appears to have changed the seven dwarves to the seven or eight “magical creatures.”

“There’s no respect for what Disney did and what my dad did… I think Walt and he would be turning in their graves,” Hand said.

Create new characters

Regarding the original, Hand said it was done “with good taste when it was written… and I disagree with this whole new concept… but I know Disney’s getting into that mode.”

“I’m afraid of what they’re going to do with the early films… [the company’s] thoughts are just so radical now,” Hand explained. “They change the stories, they change the thought processes of the characters, they just aren’t the original stories anymore. They’re making up new woke things and I’m just not into any of that.”

Mr. Hand also suggests instead of going woke with the original characters, to create new ones.

“[They] shouldn’t be taking a classic and rewriting it in their own image. Pick on something else… create new characters, if you’re gonna do this, but don’t destroy or try to destroy something that is, that is a classic and is a beautiful piece,” he said.
