The backlash continues for the upcoming live-action Snow White movie starring Rachel Zegler, as the son of the original director of the 1937 animated movie slams Disney and the new film.
91-year-old David Hand whose father director the original animated movie blasted Disney for âmaking up new woke thingsâ and even said his father and Walt Disney âwould be turning in their graves.â
Mr. Hand also told The Telegraph that it is âinsultingâ what Disney âmay have done with some of these classic films.â
âI mean, itâs a whole different concept, and I just totally disagree with it, and I know my dad and Walt would also very much disagree with it,â Hand said. âI think itâs pathetic that people feel that way⊠these are art forms in the world of film today.â

Disney has no respect
Rachel Zegler who stars as the new Snow White has gone on record that she doesnât like the original movie and admitted they changed everything about the film adding that in the original Prince Charming is a stalker and that in the new version that Snow White is a leader and the film isnât a love story.
The new movie also appears to have changed the seven dwarves to the seven or eight âmagical creatures.â
âThereâs no respect for what Disney did and what my dad did⊠I think Walt and he would be turning in their graves,â Hand said.
đż The Daily Mail published a photo from the filming of the film “Snow White” from the Disney studio, which will be released in March 2024.

Create new characters
Regarding the original, Hand said it was done âwith good taste when it was written⊠and I disagree with this whole new concept⊠but I know Disneyâs getting into that mode.â
âIâm afraid of what theyâre going to do with the early films⊠[the companyâs] thoughts are just so radical now,â Hand explained. âThey change the stories, they change the thought processes of the characters, they just arenât the original stories anymore. Theyâre making up new woke things and Iâm just not into any of that.â
Mr. Hand also suggests instead of going woke with the original characters, to create new ones.
â[They] shouldnât be taking a classic and rewriting it in their own image. Pick on something else⊠create new characters, if youâre gonna do this, but donât destroy or try to destroy something that is, that is a classic and is a beautiful piece,â he said.
