‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ Greenlit By Disney

Disney has just greenlit Lilo & Stitch 2, which follows the first movie having passed $900 million at the box office.

No details are known other than Disney announcing the sequel with a social media post.

Lilo & Stitch was released on May 23rd and, as of Tuesday, has brought in $914.3 million at the box office.

Disney made the announcement on “626” Stitch day, referencing that Stitch is Experiment 626 in the movies.

What is Lilo & Stitch about?

Lilo & Stitch is a live-action family adventure comedy about a lonely Hawaiian girl named Lilo who forms an unexpected bond with Stitch, a mischievous alien fugitive. As Stitch hides from galactic authorities, he helps Lilo reconnect with her sister and rebuild their fractured family. Set against the lush backdrop of Hawaii, the film blends heart and humor with themes of friendship, belonging, and redemption.

Rated PG, the movie runs 1 hour and 48 minutes and was released on May 23, 2025. It stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo, with a cast that includes Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, and Chris Sanders. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, with a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes.
