Silver Surfer And Galactus May Assemble With Marvel Studios In Exchange For Fox Daredevil Extension

Updated: Galactus To Marvel Studios Now Might Not Be A Go; Daredevil To Revert

The Silver Surfer may appear on the big screen surfing the spaceways along side the Marvel Studios assemblage of characters and movies.

And get this, Galactus is wanted by Marvel Studios as well with it being said The World Devourer will play a key role in the upcoming Marvel Studios movies.

There is just one problem, and that is the rights to the two Marvel Cosmic characters are presently owned by Fox Studios, as the Silver Surfer and Galactus were packaged with the rights to Fantastic Four, of which Fox is currently rebooting with Chronicle director Josh Trank at the helm.

However, Marvel Studios and Disney are trying to acquire the rights to the Silver Surfer and Galactus in exchange for an extension on the rights to Daredevil.

As it stands, Fox needs to have a new Daredevil movie underway by October 10th, otherwise the rights to the Man Without Fear will revert back to Marvel Studios.

Fox apparently wants to make a new Daredevil movie that is much darker in tone, one adapted from a Frank Miller comic book, a “Frank Miller-esque, hardcore 70s thriller,” and they want Joe Carnahan to direct.

So Disney has apparently offered – or will – an exchange for the Daredevil rights not to revert.

Variety has it that the ball is in Fox Studios’ court, with more to become known later in the week.

With Thanos appearing in the recent The Avengers movie as well as the announcement about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, with the possible inclusion of Galactus and the Silver Surfer, could we be seeing some sort of adaptation of Jin Starlin’s Infinity Gauntlet?
