Galactus To Marvel Studios Now Might Not Be A Go; Daredevil To Revert

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2502:]]An earlier report surfaced that Disney wanted to basically trade characters with Fox Studios for rights to Galactus and the Silver Surfer.

In return, Fox would keep Daredevil.

However, a contrary report has surfaced that says the trade is not happening, and more than likely Fox will just let Daredevil go.

Now, Deadline states what the talks are really about is whether Disney will co-finance a Daredevil movie with Fox, and if not — bye-bye Daredevil.

Disney working with a “rival” studio would not be unheard of as Disney made a deal with Sony to keep the merchandising rights on the Amazing Spider-Man, while Sony retained the film rights. In addition, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, was Executive Producer on Amazing Spider-Man.

Deadline does point out, though, that with the Fantastic Four reboot underway with Chronicle‘s Josh Trank in the director’s chair, Fox would be crazy to let go of the most well known and biggest Fantastic Four villain there is. Deadline’s report makes no mention of the Silver Surfer.

More details should become available soon, but both sources do state that Joe Carnahan is involved to direct a Daredevil movie.

While Fox bombed big time with Galactus in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, would it be a worthwhile trade for Daredevil?

What is another factor to consider is the other characters that were attached to the rights of Fantastic Four that might give Trank a worthy enough villain for Fox to give up Galactus.

We do know the Skrulls, but what about Annihilus?

More than likely if Fox does decide to go ahead with the trade, they realize the success Christopher Nolan had with Batman and The Dark Knight Trilogy and would attempt to make a Daredevil movie in similar manner, as Carnahan’s DD is being described as a “Frank Miller-esque, hardcore 70s thriller.”
