The Rachel Zegler Snow White trailer is now said to be canceled which follows Disney pushing back the release date of the movie by an entire year.
The news comes from the MyTimeToShineHello Twitter account.
“The first trailer for SNOW WHITE will no longer be released next month. The film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen,” tweeted the account and included the first official image of Rachel Zegler with the Seven Dwarves along with fan art of Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
More than likely the trailer would have featured a first look at Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen as well.
What happened with Snow White?
Snow White was originally supposed to be released on March 22, 2024, so releasing the trailer next month (possibly with The Marvels) would have made sense.
However, on Friday, Disney announced the Snow White release date has been delayed and pushed back to March 21, 2025.
It’s thought the film has been delayed because of the ongoing actors’ strike and that Disney wants to do reshoots. It’s guessed due to the strike, Rachel Zeggler has schedule conflicts. She recently bowed out of the new Paddington movie, thought to be because of the strikes and a schedule conflict with Snow White.
Conservatives are offering the real reason for the year-long delay is so Disney can remove all the woke content and replace it with new footage. They point to the official image using the classic depictions of the Seven Dwarves. Leaked images revealed a more diverse lineup of “politically correct compansion” in set footage, but it has been said those actors were simply placeholders.
When will the Snow White trailer be released?
So with the release date getting pushed back a year, more than likely the Snow White trailer will also be pushed back a year to November 2024.
On the schedule for November 2024, includes an untitled Sony Marvel movie, Gladiator 2, Wicked, and an untitled Disney animated film.
What is the Rachel Zegler Snow White movie about?
Disney hasn’t released an official description, but Rachel Zegler has said it’s not going to be like the original classic animated movie which she isn’t a fan of.
Zegler has described the original Prince Charming as a stalker, and said her Snow White movie won’t be a love story and that her character will be a leader.
“The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird! So we didn’t do that this time,” Zegler said in an interview.
She added, “We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we cast a guy in the movie. All of [Andrew Burnap’s] scenes could get cut, who knows? It’s Hollywood, baby!”
Amazing Spider-Man‘s Marc Webb is the director, with the script from Barbie‘s Greta Gerwig, and Erin Cressida Wilson.
