Disney Snow White Rachel Zegler Images Said To Be Fake; Update: They Are Real

Update 7/16: Disnsey has clarified to The Daily Mail that the photos are not fake and use stand-ins for Rachel Zegler and Andrew Burnap.

Set images said to be from the upcoming Disney Snow White live-action movie starring Rachel Zegler as the woke version of the titular character are fake, according to Disney.

The Daily Mail first published the photos using the headling “EXCLUSIVE: Snow White and the Seven… Politically-Correct Companions? First pictures of new live-action remake of Disney classic shows princess walking with diverse band of merry men and women after row over using dwarf actors.”

However, the Daily Beast contacted Disney who says the photos are fake:

When asked by The Daily Beast for comment on the Daily Mail’s article, which touts photos of what it claims is Snow White’s cast, a Disney spokesperson said, “The photos are fake and not from our production. We are currently trying to have the Daily Mail issue a correction.”

However, the Daily Mail actually posted a video said to be from the Snow White set in Bedfordshire, England, so unless the video is fake, too, we’re not sure what is going on. Could it be the video and the images are faked using Artificial Intelligence?

Update: What could be going on is that this is from some other project (or the whole thing is a setup), as the actress doesn’t really look like Rachel Zegler and there are eight “dwarves.”

The article also features additional images of the actors as well as the set where the crew can be seen along with camera equipment, vehicles, and more.

In the “set images” and “video,” “Rachel Zegler” can be seen wearing Snow White’s famous yellow and blue dress and a red cape along with the eight “dwarfs” — where actually one actor is only a dwarf.

Previously, actor Peter Dinklage has slammed the movie and gone on record about the use of dwarfs.

“I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White,” Dinklage said. “But you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f—ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f— are you doing man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.”

Peter Dinklage also added that if they are going to tell a progressive Snow White story they should go further progressive with the dwarfs.

“If you tell the story of ‘Snow White’ with the most f—ed up, progressive spin on it? Let’s do it. All in,” he said.

Back in May of 2022 a first look at Rachel Zegler as Snow White actually hit the net, so if the new images are legit, it looks as if reshoots are happening.
