Predator: Badlands just had an even worse second weekend than projections feared. After already underperforming on weekdays, the movie collapsed 67.5% in weekend #2, bringing in only $13 million.
That’s a devastating fall for a $105M movie that needs at least $262.5M worldwide just to break even.
Also note: Reports that Predator: Badlands is a franchise best box office are vastly overstated as they don’t count inflation. For example, the 1987 Predator movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger finished with a massive $170.7M domestic box office, with inflation factored in. Outlets also aren’t reporting on the break-even number.

Domestic: A Weak $66.3M Total After 10 Days
As of Sunday, the numbers are grim:
- Domestic: $66,304,860
- International: $70,000,000
- Worldwide: $136,304,860
This is nowhere near where the film needs to be at this stage. For comparison, Weapons, which opened similar, made $88.5M in its first 10 days and finished with $151.5M domestic. Badlands is far behind that pace and dropping faster. If the trend continues, Badlands could finish around $113.5M domestically.
It also shows that PG-13 rating for Badlands meant nothing, and also that the goofy Marvel jokes didn’t work, and the use of a wannabe “Baby Yoda” backfired.

Foreign Box Office Is the Only Lifeline
International numbers are the only thing keeping this film afloat, but even that won’t be enough unless Badlands greatly overperforms overseas.
To break even, the film needs to more than double its current worldwide gross.

Predator: Badlands is collapsing fast
A $13M second weekend confirms the worst-case scenario: Predator: Badlands is collapsing fast, performing below projections, below comps, and significantly below what a franchise film of this size needs.
Unless the international box office delivers an unexpected miracle, this Predator movie is headed toward a major financial loss for Disney.
