Zack Snyder is teaming with Tig Notaro on what she’s calling a “hot lesbian action” movie, and yes, that’s the actual pitch.
Notaro revealed the project during an appearance on the “On With Kara Swisher” podcast, where she said the idea came straight out of the unexpected reaction to her role in Snyder’s Army of the Dead.

How the Idea Started
Notaro replaced Chris D’Elia during reshoots for Army of the Dead, and the reaction blindsided her.
She said she suddenly started going viral for being “sexy” in the movie and didn’t know what to make of it.
According to Notaro, she heard it from “straight men, gay men, gay women and straight women,” so she called Snyder to tell him the odd news.
That’s when the new movie snapped into place.

The Pitch That Hooked Snyder
Notaro said she pitched Snyder with, “What if we just went for it and everyone’s a hot lesbian?” Snyder didn’t hesitate. He jumped on board immediately.
The movie is currently titled Deviants, and Notaro describes it as taking place in “old-timey days,” centered on closeted women labeled as “deviants.”
She even joked about the future poster already being imagined with a giant subtitle reading Hot Lesbian Action — the same line that sold Snyder during their Zoom call.

What’s Next
The script is being developed now, with Notaro writing and Snyder producing. It’s still early, but the concept is already generating attention, especially with Snyder’s fanbase always hungry for his next move.
Notaro, meanwhile, continues stacking projects. She voices a bear in Zootopia 2, which just dominated the box office, and she’ll return as Jett Reno in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Zack recently filmed The Last Photograph, and our insiders filled us in that Snyder has plans to restore his SnyderVerse once WBD is sold.
