Warner Bros. cleaned up at the 98th annual Academy Awards with One Battle After Another taking Best Picture and finishing the night with a leading six wins.
The studio’s big night did not stop there. Sinners followed with four wins, giving Warner Bros. a total of 11 Oscars, the most of any distributor. Netflix came in second with seven wins, including three for Frankenstein. KPop Demon Hunters also had a strong showing for Netflix and was the only other film to take home multiple trophies Sunday.
Warner Bros. Leads the Oscars
One Battle After Another was the biggest winner of the night. Along with Best Picture, the film also won for directing, adapted screenplay, film editing, casting, and supporting actor for Sean Penn.
Sinners also turned in a major performance for Warner Bros. The film won cinematography, original score, and original screenplay, while Michael B. Jordan took home Actor in a Leading Role.
Netflix Finishes Second
Netflix earned seven wins overall. Frankenstein led the way for the streamer with three wins in costume design, makeup and hairstyling, and production design. KPop Demon Hunters won Animated Feature Film and also took home Original Song for “Golden.”
