James Gunn Teases ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Is Getting Ready To Roll Cameras

James Gunn is teasing that Man of Tomorrow is getting close to cameras rolling.

In a new Instagram Story post, Gunn shared images from inside the Daily Planet and wrote, “Back home at the Daily Planet for a tech scout” and “It will look like itself soon enough!”

The post points to pre-production moving ahead as Gunn gets ready for the next Superman movie.

Reports have said filming starts April 17, which puts the production right next to Superman Day on April 18.

James Gunn is back at the Daily Planet

The new images appear to show Gunn scouting the interior of the Daily Planet newsroom.

For Superman, the newsroom interiors were shot at Terminal Station in Macon, Georgia. Gunn’s latest post makes it clear he is back working on that side of the production as Man of Tomorrow moves deeper into prep.

A tech scout usually means the director and crew are going through locations and planning out how scenes will be shot, including camera setups, lighting, and production logistics.

James Gunn Man Tomorrow Pre Production

Gunn previously confirmed Atlanta pre-production

Gunn also confirmed about a week ago that he was already in Atlanta for pre-production.

He posted a photo with friends and wrote, “Pre-production can be long and lonely so I love it when friends come to visit us in Atlanta, like @bobcatgoldthwait, Polyanna McIntosh, and @michael_rooker last night! #ozuthedog”

Taken together, the Atlanta post and the new Daily Planet scout strongly suggest Man of Tomorrow is getting ready to begin filming very soon.

Man of Tomorrow cast and story details

The announced story says a new threat arrives that forces Superman and Lex Luthor to work together to overcome it.

The cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders, and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac.

With pre-production active in Atlanta and Gunn now back inside the Daily Planet, all signs point to Man of Tomorrow getting ready to roll cameras.

Man of Tomorrow gets released on July 9, 2027.
