Oscar Isaac Boycotting Disney: Moon Knight Sounds Dead

Oscar Isaac Boycotting Disney: Moon Knight Sounds Dead

Oscar Isaac just dropped a bomb during a new GQ interview, and it’s one that should have Star Wars and Marvel fans paying attention.

Because it sure sounds like Isaac is boycotting Disney, which would directly kill any chance of him returning as Moon Knight in the MCU.

Isaac Slams Disney: “Not So Open to Working With Disney”

Asked about returning to Star Wars — something he once joked he’d only do “if he needed another house,” Isaac admitted the old quote was “slightly dickish,” then immediately took a hard pivot:

“I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great.”

This wasn’t a throwaway line. According to GQ, the interview took place two days after ABC/Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! following Kimmel’s comments about the death of Charlie Kirk, a move Isaac clearly didn’t like (Kimmel returned to air four days later).

Isaac doubled down:

“If that happens, then yeah, I’d be open to having a conversation about a galaxy far away.”

Translation: Until Disney “figures it out,” he’s not working with them.

What This Means For Star Wars

Isaac played Poe Dameron in the sequel trilogy, and while there are currently no plans to bring back the character, if Isaac is refusing to work with Disney, then Poe is off the table.

Marvel Confirms No Moon Knight Season 2

The Bigger Fallout: Moon Knight Is Probably Dead

The real shock is how this affects the MCU.

Oscar Isaac isn’t under a long-term Marvel contract. His future as Moon Knight has been left intentionally open-ended. And fans have been waiting to hear if he’d return for a second season or appear in the upcoming Avengers films.

While Isaac has previously teased a return to Moon Knight, with these new comments, the answer looks obvious:

If Isaac won’t work with Disney, he won’t work with Marvel. No Disney = No Marvel Studios = No Moon Knight.

This would in part explain why Marvel hasn’t announced anything for the character since 2022.
