Now Weird Science Gets A Remake: And Rated-R

Add another movie to the list of Hollywood remakes as the 1985 film Weird Science is getting the remake treatment.

Joel Silver, who worked on the original, will be remaking Weird Science, which is said to be an edgier R-Rated version more comparable to the The Hangover as well as the recent remake of 21 Jump Street (via Deadline).

The script is being written by Michael Bacall, known for Jump Street as well as Project X.

The original Weird Science was rated PG-13 and starred the likes of Anthony Michael Hall, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, Kelly LeBrock and Robert Downey Jr.

If the R-Rated version is too tame for you, perhaps you might be up for Weird Science XXX.
