Kevin Feige Talks How Spider-Man Fits Into The MCU

During a Q&A session while promoting The Avengers 2 Blu-Ray, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige tackled the subject of the new Spider-Man, who will be 15-years-old in the films and played by Tom Holland (via IGN).

Regarding the Spider-Man Sony deal, Feige offered:

Making that agreement … was great, and was really amazing, and on a personal level making these movies, it means a lot because I think we can do great things with Spider-Man,” Feige said. “I think Spider-man can serve great purpose in our universe and that’s where he belongs. That was what was unique about him in the comics was not that he was the only superhero in the world; it’s that he was a totally different kind of superhero when compared against all the other ones in the Marvel universe at the time.

Feige was also asked about Spider-Man showing up “late in the game,” with Feige replying:

…it’s not about when you show up, it’s about what you do once you’re there…

Feige also let it be known that Marvel has alternate plans set up if things don’t go exactly as planed:

This has been a dream of ours for a long time. We always had contingency plans, which we always do anyway. Are we going to be able to make another deal with this actor? If so, we’re going to do this; if not, we’re going to do this. If we get the rights to a certain character, that’s great; we’re going to do this. If not, we’re going to do this. We always sort of operate under those various alternate timelines available and ready to shift if something happens.”

Feige also noted connecting Spider-Man to the rest of the MCU isn’t their main priority.

…the most important thing as a standalone is relaunching Spider-Man in his own standalone movie with his own storylines that fits into this universe. That is job number one for us. … The connectivity is great, but it doesn’t drive the train.

Regarding Captain America: Civil War, Feige said the movie is “very much Cap’s story” and it’s “very much a sequel to the Winter Soldier.

Tom Holland will first be appearing in “Captain America: Civil War” followed by the 2017 Spider-Man reboot.

Robert Englund Would Do Freddy vs Michael Myers; Dream Warriors Returning For Reboot?

Update: Robert Englund says he won’t play Freddy again.

Last we heard about the Nightmare On Elm Street reboot was a couple months ago with it said the franchise will start over with a fresh new take on Freddy Krueger worthy of the 1984 Wes Craven original.

Now while attending the recent London Comic-Con, originally Freddy, Robert Englund, drops some gossip.

Englund stated he heard Tuesday Knight is wanted for the reboot. Knight is the actress that replaced Patricia Arquette in Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. Arquette’s character, Kristen Parker, was the heroine in Nightmare In Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors that had the ability to pull people into her dreams. Together with some of other teens targeted by Freddy, Kristen and her Dream Warriors took on Freddy with the help of Nancy, killing the crispy child killer. Part 4 would eventually see Kristen killed at the hands of Freddy, but not without murmurings of a resurrection.

Is it possible the Freddy reboot will incorporate some of the Dream Warrior storyline? Of course it’s simply possible that Tuesday Knight is wanted for a new role.

Interestingly enough, Robert Englund did say he would do a Nighmare On Elm Street Part 9, a prequel or even a Freddy Vs. Michael Myers movie. Englund also offered up a “Nightmare in the Hood” might be worthwhile.

“Well, I’d like to see ‘Nightmare in the Hood’! I would! I think it’d be really interesting to do a line of, like, retro 80’s hip hop ones and get a black actor to play “Freddy” and all the kids are, like, hip hop. Just do it the same!”

“You don’t do remakes! I would do ‘Freddy 9’, you know? Or I would do ‘Freddy vs Michael Myers’. Or I would do a prequel.”

Watch: Marvel’s Ant-Man Could Kill Us All!

Could Ant-Man actually be Marvel’s deadliest hero?

That’s just what The Film Theorist‘s YouTube Channel puts forth in the above video.

While Ant-Man isn’t as well known as the Avengers, the film did rake in over $400 million at the box office and has a 89% positive rating amongst fans at Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s also surpassed Captain America: The First Avenger.

Batman Vs. Superman Rated PG-13 For Sensuality

The official rating for Batman Vs. Superman is in, which should come to no surprise, as the film is rated PG-13.

What may come as a bit of a surprise is the reason is in part due to “sensuality.”

intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality

Basically what that means is we’ll see some people getting down in the movie. Maybe Bruce Wayne hooks up with Wonder Woman?

Doc Brown Returns In Back To The Future Trilogy Teaser

Marvel Comics Announces Infinity Entity & Thanos: The Infinity Finale

Jim Starlin continues with Adam Warlock and Thanos in next year’s Infinity: Entity limited series and Thanos: The Infinity Finale original graphic novel.

Marvel.com announced the news that the two series will premiere next year.

Adam Warlock will be the spotlight in the Infinity: Entity limited series with Alan Davis on art chores.

“He’s deranged, as usual,” Starlin said about Warlock. “For those who have read the first two graphic novels [Thanos: The Infinity Relativity, Thanos: The Infinity Revelation], you know that Adam has gone through a rather dramatic, if subtle, transformation as the story’s progressed. This tale explores those changes. I felt the changes in Adam in this storyline just couldn’t be squeezed into the space available and decided to augment. This series is a part of the ongoing Thanos epic I’ve been working on in the trio of graphic novels. Just as Thanos Vs. Hulk bridged the first novel with the second, Infinity Entity connects the second with the third.

“This tale is about time, space and omnipotence, so anything is possible,” Starlin continued. “Thanos, The In-Betweener, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and other cosmic and space oriented characters make an appearance. There’s a big reveal toward the end of the story arc, but we can’t say anything about that or it’ll ruin the ride.”

Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition Trailer

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future, one of the most beloved movies of all time. To celebrate the occasion, Telltale Games is releasing Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition!

Josh Brolin Gets The Thanos Responsibility (Video)

Jump to the 3:35 mark in the above video to listen to Josh Brolin talking Thanos while promoting his latest movie Sicario.

Brolin once again recollects the story about meeting the Thanos fan in an Albuquerque comic book store and says that’s when he realized just how big the Mad Titan means to the fans as the fan had a “minor stroke.”

Brolin also says Thanos is going to take on all the Avengers and that he does get the Thanos responsibility.

Sicario hits October 2nd also starring Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro.

“Avengers: Infinity War – Part I” has a May 4, 2018 release followed by Part 2 a year later.

No Anna Paquin For Gambit Movie

While Gambit and Rogue have a steamy relationship in the comics, it won’t be seen on the big screen.

Anna Paquin, who played Rogue four times in the X-Men movies, makes it known at least she won’t be appearing the Channing Tatum Gambit movie.

“No,” Paquin responded when asked by a fan on Twitter if she was going to be in Gambit.

Of course it’s always possible Rogue could be recast, but it’s probably more feasible that Rogue isn’t even in the script as Léa Seydoux is rumored to be playing the lead role as Gambit’s love interest, Bella Donna.

Anna Paquin recently appeared as Rogue in X-Men: Days Of Future Past and saw additional footage added in the “Rogue Cut” version.

Gambit has an October 7, 2016 release. Fox is currently looking for a new director following the departure of Rupert Wyatt.

Big News Coming at NYCC Says Batman Producer Michael Uslan

Big news is coming at next week’s New York Comic-Con regarding what could possibly be the next Batman movie.

Michael Uslan, who has been a producer on every Batman movie, told USA Today: “On Saturday October 10 we plan on making a major announcement. Stay tuned. Join us at 1:45 p.m. in one of the large rooms. You won’t want to miss what’s going to take place there.”

More than likely the large room Uslan is talking about is the “Batman: The Bat Universe” panel, which takes place that same Saturday on the Empire Stage at the NYCC Javits Center. Here is the official description:

A veritable who’s who of Bat-talent will gather together in Gotham for “DC Comics – Batman: The Bat-Universe.” Explore the latest adventures of the World’s Greatest Detective with Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo (BATMAN), Amy Chu (POISON IVY: CYCLE OF LIFE AND DEATH), Khary Randolph (WE ARE ROBIN), Tom King and Tim Seeley (GRAYSON), Peter Tomasi (BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT), and James Tynion IV (BATMAN ETERNAL), and be the first to witness never-before-seen art and breaking Batman news. Saturday, 1:30 pm, Empire Stage 1E.

It’s pure speculation, but Uslan may be talking about the standalone Ben Affleck Batman movie that has recently been rumored. Affleck has been said to be attached to three Batman movies in which he will star and direct.

Of course, the announcement could be about a number of things as Uslan is also involved with Batman Vs. Superman. It’s possible the news could be Justice League related or about another DC movie.

Michael Shannon Jokes More About His Batman Vs. Superman Role

Michael Shannon previously made mention he wears flippers for Batman Vs. Superman, which drove the internet wild with speculation Zod may become Doomsday or maybe even Bizarro.

Shannon has since come out and said he made it all up, and now while talking with Screen Rant says more of the same, but does offer a “no comment” when questioned if he actually has more of a role than the body bag scene depicted in the trailer.

Flippers? I think that might be a prime example of my scatological humor. People ask me a lot about Batman v Superman and I really don’t have anything to say about it, so sometimes I just make up stuff, which I’m sure Warner Bros. is really happy about.

I run for President (laughs). Uh, no, you know, I think it’s better left unsaid. I mean, when does the movie come out?

Yeah, I don’t want to spoil it for anybody. Yeah, no comment.

It’s speculated Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor gets a hold of Zod’s corpse and experiments with it, perhaps creating the Luthor Warsuit from the comics or maybe even one of the above mentioned Superman villains.

Stan Lee Chooses A Side In Captain America: Civil War

Stan Lee recently attended the Edmonton Comic Expo where he was asked which side is he on in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War Marvel movie. Stan’s answer shouldn’t come as a surprise:

Whatever side Captain America was on, because he’s the best, pure-hearted person in the whole world. By the way, he’s a great actor, too, the guy who plays Captain America does a beautiful job — Chris Evans. I say that because he likes me, and anyone who likes me is a great actor.

Stan Lee will also be a part of Civil War and has filmed a cameo.

“I just finished my cameo in the new Captain America movie the day before yesterday in Atlanta,” Lee said back in June. “They should stop calling them cameos and start calling them supporting roles.”

“Captain America: Civil War” has a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Anthony Mackie Doesn’t Want Captain America Replaced

Earlier saw Chris Evans weigh in on why Captain America comes to a disagreement with Iron Man, and now Anthony Mackie offers his thoughts on a potential new Captain America following Civil War.

As fans of the Marvel Comics storyline know, Steve Rogers was replaced by Bucky following Civil War. With Sebastian Stan playing Bucky in Civil War, it’s possible Chris Evans could share the same fate as his comic book counterpart. Marvel Comics also recently replaced Steve Rogers yet again, but this time with Falcon as the new Captain America. While attending the Salt Lake City Comic-Con, Anthony Mackie states he doesn’t want the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Cap replaced (via Salt Lake Tribune).

“I don’t think we need a new Cap. I don’t think Cap needs to change. I think [Sebastian Stan] would be a great Cap, but then we’re left without Bucky. I think I’d be a great Cap, but then we’re left without a Falcon.”

Likewise, Sebastian Stan offers this thoughts, which seems to be more of a tease about possibly playing Captain America.

“I’ll say this: They sure like to dangle a cheese in front of my nose a lot,” Stan said. In both movies, he’s picked up Cap’s shield in the middle of a battle, as a quick homage to Bucky’s tenure as Captain America in the comic books. “They’re like ‘Oh yeah, that’s where you pick up the shield,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ve heard that one before. There it is again.'”

“But I don’t know. If I could say one thing, if anyone can have anything to do with it, to make it happen, is you [the fans].”

Chris Evans Explains Captain America: Civil War Iron Man Feud

This coming May sees the Avengers choose sides as Captain America is set to take on Iron Man in a Marvel Civil War. Chris Evans recently attended the Salt Lake Comic-Com where he offered some insights into the movie including the differences between Cap and Iron Man (via sltrib). Tony actually thinks we should be signing these accords and reporting to somebody and Cap, who’s always been a company man and has always been a soldier, actually doesn’t trust anymore. Given what happened in Cap 2, I think he kind of feels the safest hands are his own. And these are understandable concerns, but this is tough, because even reading the script, you think I think I agree with Tony in a way, and I do agree that to make this work, you do need to surrender to the group. It can’t just be one person saying this is right and this is what we’re going to do.

But Cap has his reasons, he certainly has his reasons, and he is a good man and his moral compass is probably the cleanest. This is a tough thing. This is what made it so interesting while we were filming, and it’s hopefully what will make the movie great is nobody’s right, nobody’s wrong. There’s no clear bad guy here. We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics.

Robbie Amell Wants To Play Batman Beyond (Video)

It’s been a while, but last we heard in regards to a Batman Beyond movie was about two years ago when producer Michael Uslan mentioned it.

Now while attending the Salt Lake Comic-Con, Robbie Amell says he thinks it would be a good idea and would want to play Terry McGinnis.

“I am a huge fan of that idea. I think the problem is because they have Batman going on right now, they won’t make the Batman Beyond movie until I’m too old to be Terry McGinnis. By then I’ll probably be the old crusty Batman. But I’m a huge fan of that idea. I think it would be a great property. I think the smartest idea for them would be to make it like a $30 million movie. Don’t do the big $200 million blockbuster, do a dark, gritty version of Batman Beyond. The visual effects have come so far that you don’t need $200 million to show the technology that they have. Make it a nice, grounded character piece. But I don’t run a studio, so that means nothing.”

Robbie Amell plays Firestorm on The Flash and will also be featured in X-Files. There is speculation Amell may be leaving The Flash as Robbie Amell is not a part of the Firestorm character in the Arrow/Flash spinoff DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow. Maybe there’s room for Amell to play McGinnis?

Part 1

Japan, present day. The sudden arrival of the Titans – mysterious, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour human beings one after the other – brings mankind to the brink of extinction.

Yet once again, that peace is shattered when a Colossal Titan, measuring over 50 meters tall, smashes through the wall and allows a horde of other Titans to enter.

Eren Yeager had resigned himself to a life confined behind these walls. “Nothing I do would make a difference”, he thought. But when he joins the ‘Outer Wall Restoration Team’ set up to fight against the Titans, he is reunited with Mikasa, a childhood friend and someone he had long rued not being able to save. The new recruits embark on a mission to plug the gaping hole in the wall and stop the waves of titans once and for all. With humanity’s survival on the line, will there be a future for Eren and Mikasa, and for mankind itself?

Part 2:

Eren and the others set out on a mission to restore the Wall that had been destroyed by a colossal Titan, but they’re suddenly faced with a quagmire when they’re attacked by a horde of Titans. Shikishima, the Titan-slaying captain of the Scout Regiment, arrives to save the day, but the Titans show no sign of letting up. During the battle, Eren is badly injured, and in the process of saving his friend Armin, he’s swallowed whole by a Titan. Just as all hope seems to be lost, a mysterious Titan with black hair suddenly appears and begins annihilating the other Titans.

If this mission fails, it will spell the end of humanity. Why did the Titans appear? Why do people continue to fight? The last counterattack to save human civilization is about to begin.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has a January 27, 2017 release directed and written by Paul W.S. Anderson.

Synopsis:

Watch: Deleted Thor Mind Gem Scene From Avengers 2

Check out a really cool scene that was deleted from Avengers 2 featuring Chris Hemsworth as Thor with mention of the Mind Gem and the other Infinity Stones.

We also see the predictions teased the death of Quicksilver (human sacrifice) as well as Civil War (enemies are closer).

Michael Rooker Asks James Gunn For Yondu Guardians of the Galaxy Spinoff

With the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, will Marvel Studios decide to give us some cosmic spinoffs? It’s definitely a possibility, and one that Michael Rooker obviously sees the potential in.

James Gunn posted the following Yondu “movie poster” on Facebook adding: “#GotG spin-off? This is the kind of stuff Michael Rooker sends me at 3 am.”

Michael Rooker will be back as Yondu for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which has a May 5, 2017 release date.
