Warner Bros. isn’t backing down this weekend from Marvel, as the studio doubles down and announces special “Block Party Edition” screenings of Minecraft on Friday, which will go up against Thunderbolts.
That’s not all, as WB also has the Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan Sinners movie this weekend, which has been a big success.

A Minecraft Movie: Block Party Edition!
Regarding the special screenings of A Minecraft Movie, WB officially announced that various theaters will encourage fans to sing and talk along with the movie, which has become a smash hit, recently blowing past $800 million at the worldwide box office:

Sinners might take a bite out of Thunderbolts
In its second weekend, Sinners is now at over $161 million and only saw a drop of 6.3%. The flick also stars Hailee Steinfeld and is quickly turning into a cult classic.
Sinners has a 98% Rotten Tomatoes Score, a 97% fan score, and an “A” CinemaScore. Word is definitely out the movie is good and it’s spreading like wildfire.
Tom Cruise, who recently signed a big contract with WB, also came out in support.
Once again, #TomCruise aka our theatrical Lord & Saviour, out there actually going to a London movie theatre with General audiences, watching & promoting a movie he’s not related with, and recommending it. This time, he chose #SINNERS & loved it.

Thunderbolts tracking soft
Tracking for Thunderbolts has been among the lowest of the MCU movies to date, just above The Marvels.
hunderbolts follows recent bombs from Kevin Feige, including The Marvels and Captain America: Brave New World.
It also seems as if Thunderbolts is more of a sequel to Black Widow, another big-time MCU bomb, focusing on Florence Pugh and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ characters. Well, going the girl-power route hasn’t worked out for Feige at all.
Feige did spoil Thunderbolts of sorts with the cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday, but with box office estimates so low, Feige really doesn’t have anything to lose.
