That big Warner Bros. Discovery and Tom Cruise deal is finally seeing the light of day as the untitled movie now has an official release date. The first plot details are also revealed.
The film is being directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and will be released Oct. 2, 2026, the release date previously held by The Batman: Part Two which has been pushed back to 2027.

Via an official logline from WB, we get what the flick is about: The film follows “the most powerful man in the world” as he “embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.”

Big deal announced 2024
The Tom Cruise Warner Bros. deal was announced January 2024 stating WBD and the actor will jointly develop and produce original and franchise theatrical films.
Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group’s Co-Chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca & Pam Abdy said at the time:
