Michael Keaton Batman Universe Exists Following The Flash (Rumor)

The news of Michael Keaton in talks to return as Batman has everyone excited, with a rumor offering a possibility of what might happen following The Flash movie.

It’s claimed that Michael Keaton might not be associated with the DCEU following The Flash but will be a part of the Tim Burton Batman universe that will be explored in future flicks.

Monday’s news about Michael Keaton in early talks saw it reported that Keaton might appear in other DC films as Batman, but according to this new rumor from Daniel RPK (via Twitter), it isn’t yet clear if those other DC films will be set in the current DCEU or if those films will explore the Tim Burton Batman ’89 universe.

So as it has been said that Michael Keaton might take on a Nick Fury-like mentor role, with Batgirl specifically mentioned, if this rumor is legit, that may mean the Batgirl movie would take place in the Batman ’89 universe and not the DCEU.

Micheal Keaton Batman Beyond

Batman DC Multiverse could be happening

We can also guess, again if the rumor is legit, that keeping Michael Keaton in his own universe would possibly enable the Robert Pattinson Batman to be introduced into the DCEU, maybe even through The Flash movie, which is somewhat adapting the “Flashpoint” comic book story.

According to yesterday’s news, the story of The Flash movie involves Barry Allen traveling back in time to prevent his mother’s death which causes the creation of another universe protected by Michael Keaton’s Batman.

What really sounds like is happening is that Barry travels to the Batman ’89 universe as part of the DC Multiverse and that Barry doesn’t necessarily create a brand new universe.

While just speculation, we can also guess that this might be a way of leading to a Batman Beyond flick, with Michael Keaton as the older Bruce Wayne mentoring the younger Caped Crusader, Terry McGinnis, in the Burton ’89 universe.

We can also add that if the Tim Burton ’89 universe is explored, that may mean more from the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman or even Jack Nicholson’s Joker.

Similar to other reports, this rumor also says the Michael Keaton deal is not yet done and might not happen.
