James Gunn offered a quick update on The Batman Part II at the Superman premiere held today, Monday, July 7th.
What did James Gunn say?
During the event, Gunn was asked if he read the script for The Batman Part II, and if Bat-Mite — the obscure DC character — is part of it. Gunn laughed off the Bat-Mite question but confirmed, “It’s great,” referring to the script.

The comment follows Matt Reeves’ announcement that the script was recently completed, with filming expected to begin later this year.

Matt Reeves and Andy Muschietti attend Superman premiere
Reeves himself was also spotted at the Superman premiere, showing support for Gunn’s first DCU movie. It’s a nice moment, considering that Reeves’ Batman films are part of the separate DC Elseworlds banner, with Gunn overseeing the mainline DCU continuity.
Worth a mention is that Andy Muschietti was also spotted at the Superman premiere who is supposed to be directing the DCU’s Brave and the Bold which introduces the DCU Batman.
