Mel Gibson has been making the rounds as of late promoting his latest directorial movie Hacksaw Ridge, which is about WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss who served during the Battle of Okinawa and refused to kill people, becoming the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor.
Days ago saw Mel Gibson take a swing at comic book movies by stating: âDesmond attributed his actions to a power greater than himself, and the difference between a real superhero and a comic-book superhero is that real superheroes didnât wear any Spandex.â
Now in an interview with Deadline, Mel Gibson is back at it as he calls Zack Snyderâs Batman Vs. Superman âa piece of sh-t.â
âWow, I mean if youâre spending outrageous amounts of money, $180 million or more, I donât know how you make it back after the tax man gets you, and after you give half to the exhibitors. What did they spend on Batman V Superman that theyâre admitting to?â Mel Gibson questioned, with Deadline responding, â I want to say $250 million. Then youâve got marketing.âÂ
âAnd itâs a piece of sh-t,â Gibson said, and reiterated his views on superheroes. âIâm not interested in the stuff. Do you know what the difference between real superheroes and comic book superheroes is? Real superheroes didnât wear spandex. So I donât know. Spandex must cost a lot.â
We can guess from Mel Gibsonâs comments on comic book movies that he wonât be directing his friend, Robert Downey Jr., in Iron Man 4 any time soon. A while ago actually saw Mel Gibson mention he would consider directing Iron Man 4, and Gibson even had good things to say about Ben Affleck.
