Marvel’s Blade movie starring Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali could be in big trouble if the latest rumors are true, which follows the end of the writers strike.
It’s claimed that Blade is going to get another rewrite, which follows the news prior to the strike that a rewrite was already happening.
So if true, that means the Blade movie is going through at least its third rewrite.
The rumor comes from the the official Twitter account of r/DCEUleaks sub on Reddit which has also claimed Ebon Moss-Bachrach is playing The Thing in Fantastic Four, which is also said to be suffering from a host of problems.
Update: Daniel RPK says the script is getting a rewrite, who could be the original source of the rumor.

How many Blade rewrites?
It could be possible the account or Daniel RPK mean the Blade rewrite that is happening is the same one reported by THR back at the end of April, with Nic Pizzolatto now on writing duties.
The writers went on strike a few days after the article was published.
THR reported at the end of April that Nic Pizzolatto had been writing the new Blade script for a few weeks, so that means he would have had to stop when the strike started in early May.
Now that the strike is over, Pizzolatto might be writing the new Blade script, which is the rewrite.
The other possibility, if the DCEUleaks and Daniel RPK rumor is to be taken at its word, is that the Nic Pizzolatto rewrite has also been thrown out and that a third Blade rewrite is happening.
Update: Exactly as I thought, it’s now said it isn’t another rewrite but a continuation of the one previous to the strike.
“The script is not being written from scratch, but rather continued,” says Daniel RPK.

Why is Blade getting so many rewrites?
The Blade movie is currently on its second director and at least its third writer, so obviously there are major problems with the film.
Reportedly, two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali wasn’t happy with the previous scripts and is now said to be more heavily involved in the development of the movie.
Problems associated with Blade have been said to include that Kevin Feige has been spread too thin with the MCU movies and the MCU Disney Plus shows.
At the same time, it has also been said Marvel is in turmoil with major script and production problems.
Blade has also been said to have severed ties with the Eternals movie and Kit Harington, and rumors offer the flick is all about Blade’s daughter, where we can guess fitting with Kevin Feige’s diversity approach to the MCU, the daughter could very well replace Blade in the MCU.
Perhaps Mahershala Ali doesn’t want to be replaced in the MCU and is demanding rewrites to make the movie be the best that it can be.
The Blade release date has also been delayed from Sept. 6, 2024, to Feb. 14, 2025.
