It’s just as I have been telling you for years – #RIPMCU – and now Matthew Vaughn also says what I have been stating regarding the Marvel universe, that it’s dead.
While promoting the release of his spy movie that gets released this week starring Henry Cavill, with Argylle, Vaughn who is no stranger to comic book movies touches upon Marvel.
Marvel needs a “jolt”
Vaughn says that Marvel needs a “jolt” to bring it back to life and he thinks Deadpool 3 will save the day.
“The few snippets that I know about Deadpool vs. Wolverine — or Wolverine vs. Deadpool, I’m sure that argument between Ryan and Hugh is happening as we speak — are unbelievable,” Vaughn told BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast.
Vaughn continued, “That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”
Wants the best for Marvel
Matthew Vaughn of course directed X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass, and the Kingsman movies.
“I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be,” he added.
Regarding #RIPMCU, it all started with Captain Marvel, which introduced Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. From there, Avengers: Endgame which was full of fan service was released, and then it was all downhill for the MCU from there.
The latest bombs from the MCU include Thor: Love and Thunder, Quantumania, and The Marvels. It’s no different on the Disney+ streaming service which includes bombs such as Echo, Secret Invasion, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, and She-Hulk. Daredevil: Born Again is currently filming and has been retooled.
Big course correction underway
Likewise, all the upcoming MCU movies have new writers in a course correction with Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Blade, and Captain America: Brave New World is undergoing massive reshoots.
Per what Vaughn says above, if Deadpool 3 somehow happens to bomb, the MCU could stay buried.
Deadpool 3 gets released July 26 directed by Shawn Levy; the first trailer is expected to drop Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 11.
