Marvel Cancels She-Hulk Early As ‘Imperial’ Cosmic Relaunch Gets Cut Down

Marvel Cancels She-Hulk Early As 'Imperial' Cosmic Relaunch Gets Cut Down

Marvel Comics has cut Planet She-Hulk short (surprise), with issue #6 now positioned as the ending.

It’s reportedly part of the bigger pullback happening around Jonathan Hickman’s Imperial “Marvel Cosmic” relaunch, which was mid at best.

Fans to Marvel: We Don’t Want She-Hulk

Marvel’s own listing for Planet She-Hulk #6 frames it as a closing chapter – teasing “CLOSING ARGUMENTS!” – and the issue is scheduled for April 29, 2026.

Writer Stephanie Phillips, via YouTube, has said the series ending early wasn’t the plan, and that the whole “Imperial” line got hit with sudden changes that forced creative pivots.

Nova: Centurion (2025) #4 Review – Marvel Comics

Marvel ruined Nova

Marvel positioned Nova: Centurion as part of the same post-Imperial cosmic push when it was announced out of SDCC.

Now it appears Nova: Centurion could also end at issue #6, as the solicitation teases: “Will NOVA survive to see another day in the unsavory, deadly galaxy he’s sworn to protect?! You’ll just have to wait and see…”

That lines up with Phillips revealing that the cosmic plan got scaled back fast. More on Nova below.

Captain Marvel Canceled Again: IMPERIAL GUARDIANS Downgraded to Mini-Series

Imperial Guardians went from “ongoing” to 5 issues

Marvel.com announced Dan Abnett’s Imperial Guardians as a new ongoing series and sold it as a big part of the new cosmic direction.

But by the start of the year, Marvel switched gears and changed it to a five-issue series instead, and canceled the series.

So what happened to the “Marvel Cosmic” relaunch?

The Marvel Cosmic relaunch was a generic heartless attempt at reviving the brand after they killed it off 15 years ago.

The new relaunch is also filled with characters that has been proven time and time again that no one wants including She-Hulk (best served as a supporting character in another character’s book and how’d that Disney+ show do?); Captain Ms. Marvel – canceled title after canceled title and holds the record for the lowest-performing MCU movie; Shuri – not space cosmic and another character no one gives two sh-ts about; Amadeus Cho – another replacement character; Cosmic Ghost Rider – another goofy replacement for the originals.

Fans also don’t want movie versions of the characters in the comics, like the goofy ass James Gunn Star-Lord. They’ve also forced in LGBTQ+ and politically-driven characters when the LGBTQ+ and political crowd doesn’t support them (they don’t read comics just like the MCU fans).

What about Nova?

I personally feel McKay’s Nova is pretty mid.

Again, it seems like they’re just going through the motions. The interior art was also pretty bad, and Nova’s design with the bomber jacket is awful.

They also can’t get the star symbol right, which shows the writer, artists, and editors don’t give a fk.

Fans don’t want replacement characters taking over and reprising epic stories like the original Planet Hulk. They don’t want Captain America replaced. They don’t want Black Panther replaced. They don’t want the Hulk replaced. Ad nauseam.

Fans are tired of all this woke bs from Disney and Marvel.

Marvel killed Marvel Cosmic back in 2011/12 when they canceled Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova to introduce woke characters that sync with Feige and Disney’s woke MCU. Per the editor at the time, the line was solid and sold well. I helped them promote it.

That woke approach killed the comics, and just as I’ve said, the movies, too. And for the record, I was the first one to say it, and I was right and still am.

Also, I don’t think it can recover.

Marvel Comics sent the fans packing with a bug FU. Well, FU to Disney and Marvel. And I’m not the only one who feels that way.
