Mark Millar’s Superior Goes Into Production This Year; Who Should Direct?

[page_title]

The film adaptation of the popular Mark Millar comic book Superior will go into production this year, with the project being written by the writing duo of Brandon Murphy and Phillip Murphy.

If you haven’t read the Superior comic, I don’t want to spoil the plot for you, but it’s safe to say it’s a take on Superman, but with a twist as a boy with multiple sclerosis is granted one wish by an alien monkey, with that wish being to become his favorite action hero/super hero in real life — Superior (you can pick up the graphic novel on Amazon).

Millar is responsible for writing the Marvel Comics’ Civil War event comic book as well as his Kick-Ass comics and movies and the recent hit Kingsman: The Secret Service (awesome movie).

Earlier this morning saw Millar take to Twitter to ask fans who they think should direct Superior, with mention that it can’t be Matthew Vaughn as Vaughn is busy with the sequel to Secret Service

Two choices that came to my mind were Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) and Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange); however, as Millar noted, Superior will film this year, so Edwards and Derrickson are out of the equation due to Star Wars and Doctor Strange, respectively.

If you can recommend anybody for the gig, tweet @mrmarkmillar.

Millar also gave an update for the Nemesis movie in that it’s moved over to Warner Bros. and “going great.”
