New Harley Quinn Movie Gets A Director

New Harley Quinn Movie Gets A Director

It’s learned WB is moving forward on a new Harley Quinn movie starring Margot Robbie.

The untitled film has landed newbie director Cathy Yan, who marks WB’s second female superhero director following Patty Jenkins on Wonder Woman, and the first Asian director on a comic book movie.

Details for the flick are slim, but it’s described as an “untitled Harley Quinn girl gang movie” as well as an all-female variation on Suicide Squad.

The Harley Quinn movie is stopped short of being described as a “Birds of Prey” film, with the comics having featured Quinn, Catwoman, Batgirl, Katana and other characters.

The script was written by Christina Hodson who WB recently scooped up to also write the Batgirl movie.

The Harley Quinn movie will start filming at the end of the year or early next year.

Margot Robbie is also set to return for Suicide Squad 2 directed by Gavin O’Connor, and has in the works Harley Quinn Vs The Joker and Gotham City Sirens.
