Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Madden, giving fans their best look yet at Nicolas Cage as NFL legend John Madden.
Trailer Teases Thanksgiving 2026 Release
The trailer opens with the line, “There is only one John Madden, they didn’t make another one,” and charts his rise from Super Bowl-winning coach of the Raiders to becoming a household name through broadcasting and the Madden NFL video game.
Nicolas Cage steps into the role with a grounded, gritty presence, echoing Madden’s larger-than-life influence on football.
The film is scheduled for release on Thanksgiving 2026.

From the Sideline to the Screen
Madden follows Cage’s portrayal of the coach as he steps away from football due to health issues, only to find a new calling in helping Electronic Arts build what would become the top-selling sports video game franchise.
The trailer hints at key moments in Madden’s life, from locker-room tension to early meetings with EA Sports and studio voiceover sessions.
Christian Bale appears as Raiders owner Al Davis. The cast also includes John Mulaney as EA founder Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden, and Sienna Miller as Carol Davis.

Real Football Meets Hollywood
Directed by David O. Russell, Madden promises a look at how one man reshaped the way America talks about football. The movie is produced by Escape Artists with Russell, Michael Strahan, and Skydance Sports attached.
Madden hits theaters November 2026.
