Josh Gad Not Playing Penguin In The Batman

Josh Gad has been seemingly teasing and vying for the Penguin role for over two years now, but the actor takes to social media to let it be known he won’t be playing the character in the Matt Reeves The Batman movie.

“Ok, seeing as I keep getting this question
as much as I have LOVED torturing you all with teasing you about the Penguin, I feel like it’s time to tell you
I’m NOT actually playing this character. But I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the fan art and the love,” Josh Gad tweeted.

Josh Gad Won’t be Penguin in The Batman But Who Will?

Josh Gad brought attention to the possibility of him playing Penguin in The Batman numerous times which included a visit to the DC Comics offices. Word even reached Matt Reeves about the possibility, with Reeves offering that he is a fan and that he and Josh Gad are friends.

While Josh Gad won’t be playing Penguin, rumors have it that the character is still a part of The Batman along with the potential of up to a total of a half dozen villains or more. It’s said that in addition to Penguin, the flick may also feature Catwoman, Riddler, Two-Face, the Mad Hatter and Firefly.

With Josh Gad out as the Penguin, who do you want to see play the character?

The Batman has a June 25, 2021 release said to be following Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne as he tries to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective.
