Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Star-Lord In The Guardians of the Galaxy Movie?!

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4893:]]Now this would be pretty big for James Gunn and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

How about Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord?

Could you get on board with this, Cosmic Book News readers?

Previously, a batch of names was rumored for the lead role of Star-Lord, which director James Gunn came out publicly and shot down.

There weren’t too many “big” names among the bunch, and a majority of them eventually went on to land roles in other movies.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is coming off The Dark Knight Rises as well as the time travel thriller co-starring Bruce Willis, Looper and one of the year’s best movies with Lincoln. He’s one of Hollywood’s hottest actors and would definitely put the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on the map.

Deadline has it that he is in contention for Star-Lord and can be added to the list of actors that Marvel Studios is considering.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was also rumored to be the new Batman in the Batman 2016 reboot and Justice League movie, but the rumor was squashed by his reps.

Would going from The Dark Knight Rises to fighting alongside the Avengers in The Avengers 2 (assuming) be an issue with movie goers?

We don’t see it as much of a problem.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie opens August 1, 2014 directed by James Gunn.
