Joker: First Look At Zazie Beetz

Following director Todd Phillips releasing Joaquin Phoenix as Joker, now a first look at Zazie Beetz from the movie has been posted to Instagram.

Zazie Beetz, who is known for Deadpool 2, is described as playing a single mom who catches the interest of the man who will become the clown prince of crime.

We can guess that Beetz will be seen on the set shortly, which is why Todd Phillips has been releasing official images from the film.

“Here’s the issue. We have paparazzi all over the set, at every turn,” Todd Phillips explained on Instagram to a fan commenting that the movie doesn’t come out for over a year. “And it bums me out that they constantly put out their bum shots. So I figure, may as well post some good ones.”

Todd Phillips also added: “So excited to be working with @zaziebeetz. Joker.”

Joker

The Joker origin movie centers around the iconic arch nemesis of Batman and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of a man disregarded by society is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale. The film follows the transformation of a struggling stand-up comedian to a full-blown criminal force of nature.

The movie also stars Robert DeNiro as a talk show host, Marc Maron is the agent responsible for getting the Joker on DeNiro’s talk show, with the film also starring Frances Conroy and Josh Pais.

Joker has an October 4, 2019 release date.
