Great Caesar’s Ghost, it is announced that Wendell Pierce has been cast as Perry White in James Gunn’s new Superman movie which follows the recent title reveal and costume tease.
The 60-year-old actor is known for a plethora of roles including The Wire, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Chicago PD, and he also played Robert Zane on Suits which has seen renewed popularity on Netflix.
James Gunn recent started filming Superman on Thursday, the birthday of the Man of Steel.
Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet and boss to Clark Kent and Lois Lane, was most recently played on the big screen by Laurence Fishburne in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman.
Gunn seems to be borrowing big time from the Donner films, where Jackie Cooper played Perry White.

The cast also includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane; Isabela Merced is Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion is Green Lantern Guy Gardner; Edi Gathegi is playing Mister Terrific; María Gabriela de Faría is playing The Engineer; Anthony Carrigan is Metamorpho; Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio is Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore is Otis, with Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Sean Gunn is also playing Maxwell Lord in the DCU, though it’s unconfirmed if he will be in Superman, and Milly Alcock is also playing Supergirl rumored to first appear in Superman prior to her solo Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film.
