Only hours after Zack Snyder posted a new black-and-white shot of Ben Affleck in the armored Batman v Superman suit, Hot Toys announced the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Armored Batman (2.0) figure.
The company also released a full set of blogger photos, giving collectors their first detailed look at the upgraded release.
The timing immediately caught the attention of fans who have been watching Snyder’s sudden wave of DC posts over the past several weeks.
Hot Toys Unveils the Updated Armored Batman Figure
Hot Toys said it is bringing back the armored suit with major improvements.
The new 1/6th scale figure features an overhauled sculpt, updated armor detailing, improved paintwork, and a redesigned body with sharper articulation.
The LED light-up eyes return, paired with interchangeable lower faceplates based on Ben Affleck’s expressions from the film. The weapon set includes Batman’s grapple gun and grenade launcher, both rebuilt with more accurate detailing.
Deluxe Version Brings Battle Damage and Kryptonite Spear
For collectors who want the fight scene look, the deluxe edition contains a battle-damaged armored head, additional damaged armor pieces, and an LED Kryptonite spear.
A diorama base allows the spear to be displayed through the chest strike pose seen during the BvS confrontation. Hot Toys says the battle-damaged parts are entirely new sculpts, not reworks of the original release.
The Timing Raises SnyderVerse Questions Again
Hot Toys dropping this announcement right after Snyder posted a new armored suit image only adds fuel to the ongoing speculation.
Snyder recently returned to Instagram and has been releasing multiple behind-the-scenes photos from his DC era.
Larry Fong has reappeared on social media. Arrow’s official Facebook page teased “Back with a vengeance.” RatPac’s financial ties to Snyder’s films resurfaced. And the bidding war for Warner Bros. Discovery continues to heat up.
With all of that happening, the reveal of a fully updated Armored Batman figure on the same day Snyder highlighted the suit feels like another piece in a growing pattern.
It also proves how popular and successful Snyder’s SnyderVerse really is, as Hot Toys keeps releasing merchandise associated with the movies.
