Helldivers to Hellpods! The battle for Super Earth in Helldivers 2 has officially begun following the Illuminate invasion.
Arrowhead unleashed a new major update Tuesday morning, where Earth is now under attack. The Illuminate have made their way to Earth. The Illuminate have razed Mars.
The major update follows the new weapon customizations and progression. The new Masters of Ceremony Warbond is also available.
Super Earth is under attack
The official account on X posted a teaser video announcing the Battle for Super Earth.
Update: A trailer has also been released. The video description teases:
“Citizens of Super Earth, the hour of reckoning is upon us. Unverified intel reports of something more monstrous than the Voteless – more terrifying than a Bile Titan. A grotesque fusion of flesh, twisted by alien experimentation, and reborn in rage. Today, we stand at the threshold of a catastrophic blow to the Heart of Democracy. Freedom as we know it will be defined by what we do next. The Ministry of Defence has authorised expanded artillery deployment to better enable Helldivers to safeguard all citizens. Upgrade your arsenal to deliver more Justice with every shot. You will not face this alone. SEAF soldiers are now on active duty. The fate of Super Earth will not crumble in fear — it will be reinforced by staunch moral fortitude. X post announces Illuminate invasion
“The Illuminate invasion has begun. Landfall is confirmed at multiple sites across Super Earth. Our Mega Cities are under siege. For the first time in more than a century, hostile forces have breached our sovereign homeworld,” states the post. “The Battle for Super Earth has begun.”
The post continues, “The Helldivers must hold Super Earth at all costs. Oppose this invasion with the fullest extent of warranted and vindictive prejudice permitted under galactic law. Managed Democracy faces its greatest test yet. This battle is anticipated to span multiple Major Orders.”

The announcement adds, “Super Earth’s population is concentrated in seven Mega Cities, including our federal capital, Prosperity City. Should all seven fall, Super Earth will be lost. The Illuminate Fleet must be depleted before that can happen.
“To erode Illuminate operational capabilities, and weaken overall fleet cohesion, tactical analysis calls for significant enemy losses. The initial strategy is clear: obliterate Illuminate forces. We fight not just for Freedom, but for the survival of all we hold dear. Together, we will show our would-be oppressors the full might of Managed Democracy,” concludes the post.
