He-Man Leaked Trailer Compared to Shazam, Jared Leto's Skeletor Looks Good

A Reddit user claims they saw an unfinished version of the Masters of the Universe trailer during a theater visit, offering early impressions of the footage.

The individual said they were approached at the theater and offered free tickets in exchange for watching and reviewing a trailer on a small tablet, which turned out to be for the upcoming live-action He-Man movie.

The footage was said to be about 75% complete, with placeholder visual effects, visible green screens, and security watermarks throughout. Despite that, the viewer said the trailer was solid and delivered a promising first look at the origin story of Prince Adam becoming He-Man.

Trailer Shows Prince Adam’s Origin Story

According to the viewer, the trailer begins with Prince Adam on Earth, talking to a friend about Cringer, the green tiger. From there, Adam is transported to Eternia, where he begins to uncover his lineage, possibly guided by the Sorceress. The trailer then jumps around to different scenes showing Adam meeting various Eternians, glimpses of Evil-Lyn and Skeletor, and ultimately transforming into He-Man by raising the Power Sword and shouting, “I HAVE THE POWER.”

The trailer ends with quick shots of He-Man in action. The Redditor noted that the movie has a strong He-Man tone, and while Nicholas Galitzine nailed the role of Prince Adam, they felt the actor could be more muscular in He-Man form.

Jared Leto’s Skeletor Makes an Impression

One of the highlights of the trailer, according to the post, was Jared Leto as Skeletor. The character was only shown briefly, but the viewer said he looked solid and close to the original cartoon. Due to the setting — a noisy area near the concession stand — it was difficult to hear many of the lines, but the appearance alone left a strong impression.

Other characters like Evil-Lyn and Man-At-Arms were also spotted, though the watermarks and unfinished footage made it hard to judge costumes in full. The viewer did note that their wife liked Man-At-Arms’ look in particular.

Tone Compared to Shazam

When asked about the film’s tone, the Redditor compared it to the first Shazam movie. They described it as having a slightly campy feel but also maintaining a serious tone. The trailer didn’t come off as overly gritty or dark, instead landing somewhere between fantasy adventure and light superhero fare.

The response lines up with what cast member Alison Brie recently hinted at, pushing back against rumors that the film is leaning too serious.
