Following the earlier images released, Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty teases King Ghidorah with the following image.

“The Golden Demise,” Dougherty tweeted.

King Ghidorah in various depictions has been revealed to be an extraterrestrial planet-killing dragon, a genetically engineered monster from the future, or even a guardian monster of ancient Japan, so the three-headed beast’s origin in the new movie should be interesting.

As part of the film’s viral marketing, the Monarch viral site revealed they are referring to King Ghidorah as Monster Zero who stands 521 feet tall and it is considered of a bio-electric nature and included the following info:

From the Hydra to the Rainbow Serpent, myth was the compass that led us to the resting place of the three-headed Titan. A name, unspoken through millennia of whispered nightmares. A living extinction event, named “the one who is many”. We call it Monster Zero.

Cranial scans reveal a divergent frontal lobe density in the brains of the three heads, denoting each head has disparate levels of cognitive functions, and possibly even independent thought.
