Godzilla Minus One Director Plans DC Studios Visit With James Gunn

Is the DCU about to blow up? All the talk right now is about James Gunn’s Superman. Now it’s learned the Godzilla Minus One director is a big DC fan and will be visiting DC Studios.

Gunn huge fan of Godzilla Minus One

While promoting Superman for Japanese fans, Gunn spoke with Takashi Yamazaki, the director behind the Oscar-winning smash hit, Godzilla Minus One.

“I’m a big fan of Godzilla Minus One,” said Gunn. “It’s just such a beautiful film.”

Gunn added that he likes how it stays faithful to the Godzilla movies, incorporates the human element, and that it’s one of his favorite movies from the past two years.

Takashi Yamazaki wants to visit Gunn and talk more

As they wrapped up the interview, Takashi Yamazaki said that they didn’t have a lot of time to talk, but that he wanted to talk more. He told Gunn that the next time he is in Los Angeles, he wants to get together with Gunn and talk.

“Please do. We’ll make sure that we get your information. We’ll figure something out. Come by and see DC Studios. Show you the original Superman costume that’s in my office,” said Gunn.

Maybe the DCU has a place for Takashi Yamazaki? Gunn’s first chapter is aptly titled “Gods and Monsters.”

Superman flies into theaters Friday.
