Glenn Close Returns For Guardians of the Galaxy 2 As Nova Prime

We have our first confirmation that the Nova Corps will be a part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 — or at least Nova Prime Glenn Close.

We know Gunn isn’t a big fan of Nova for whatever reason (which probably explains the first movie’s Nova Corps costume designs), and Gunn previously said John C. Reilly won’t be back as Corpsman Dey in the sequel.

Gunn also cut Richard Rider Nova from the first Guardians of the Galaxy script, but at least he isn’t as bitter when fans bring up mention of Rider on his Facebook page this time around as he recently said a Nova movie was possible and sounded pretty upbeat about it. I also don’t think Gunn is banning people from his Facebook page anymore when they do mention Nova, so that’s certainly a good sign.

Last we saw of the Nova Corps and Glenn Close is that at the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie they are left keeping the Infinity Stone safe. However, Gunn did say that the Infinity Stone as well as Thanos won’t be a factor in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 so it remains to be seen how Glenn Close (and possibly the Nova Corps) will be involved.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.
