Responds to rumors

While appearing on the Playlist‘s The Discourse podcast, Powell responded to fan casting and rumors he met with the studios.

“You know I’ve never gotten a call from DC or Marvel,” Powell said. “But I’m a fan of everything they do.”

On Deadpool & Wolverine

He also saw Deadpool & Wolverine and loved it.

“I just saw Deadpool [and Wolverine]. I freaking had a blast,” said Powell. “I think what Shawn [Levy] and Ryan [Reynolds] did with that is like extraordinary and just such a fun flavor for audiences. And I cheer for them. And I love what [they do].”

On the new DCU

Powell also talked up the new DCU.

“I think James Gunn, Peter Safran, and what they’re doing at DC — I think it’s going to be really, really good for that business,” he said. “So, it’s like, yeah, I cheer them all on. I’m a big fan of the movies.”

Would play a wild Batman

Regarding Batman, interestingly enough, James Gunn is looking for a new Batman for Andy Muschietti’s Brave and the Bold movie. Glen Powell says he would rather do a Dark Knight closer to the Keaton version than the recent Robert Pattinson version.

“I was always a Batman guy. I would have a wild take on Batman. It definitely would not be like a Matt Reeves tone — it’d probably be closer to Keaton,” he said.

Powell also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

“I get my head smashed in by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises,” he said.

Fans have also cast Glen Powell as Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

Powell actually previously said he isn’t interested in the MCU.
