In-Engine Preview of Snake Eyes

The team shared early in-engine renders of Snake Eyes on social media, offering a close-up look at the character’s detailed armor, katana, and rifle. The images highlight the gritty, tactical design direction for the game, which is still deep in development. Atomic Arcade states this is the first of many teases as the project progresses.

“We are hard at work on our game centered on Snake Eyes, the legendary ninja/commando from G.I. Joe, and we wanted to share a glimpse of the awesome work our team is doing. Here is a peek at our Snake Eyes character model rendered in-engine,” tweeted the official account.

Snake Eyes in Film and Past Video Games

Snake Eyes was last seen in the 2021 live-action film of the same name, which explored his origin and aimed to launch a rebooted G.I. Joe movie series.

While there’s no word yet on whether the new game connects to that version of the character, it marks the latest entry in a long line of G.I. Joe video games.

The franchise’s gaming history goes back to 1983’s G.I. Joe: Cobra Strike on the Atari, with the most recent being G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout, a 2020 third-person shooter developed by IguanaBee.

A live-action GI Joe vs Transformers movie is also said to be in the works starring Chris Hemsworth.
