Following Rise of the Beasts, Paramount announces a live-action Transformers and G.I. Joe movie is in the works.
The announcement came at this week’s CinemaCon which also included the first teaser for the Transformers One animated prequel movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson.
The end of Rise of the Beasts sees Anthony Ramos’s character getting recruited by a member of G.I. Joe (watch below).
According to Deadline, the Transformers G.I. Joe movie is based on the Marvel Comics storylines from the 1980s.
The flick has no director as of yet but Steven Spielberg is attached as executive producer who executive produces all the Transformers movies.
It’s possible director Steven Caple Jr. could return as it is said the G.I. Joe crossover was his idea to include in Rise of the Beasts, and Steven Caple Jr. is said to be in talks for another movie.
Rise of the Beasts brought in $439 million in 2023. The last G.I. Joe movie to be released was Snake Eyes in 2021 which brought in $40 million.
Robert Kirkman of The Walking Dead and Invincible fame also recently combined Transformers and G.I. Joe into one shared universe in his Skybound Entertainment comics.
Hasbro is also celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Transformers with episodes released in theaters.
