Freya Allan Wants ‘The Witcher’ Fans To Give Liam Hemsworth A Chance

The Witcher fans aren’t happy that Henry Cavill has left the series, and it’s no secret, as Freya Allan is well aware of the situation with Liam Hemsworth.

Following Cavill’s exit, Netflix announced Liam Hemsworth will be the replacement actor for Geralt of Rivia and that the show will film two more seasons and conclude.

“I just hope that people give him the time of day”

Speaking with Collider while promoting her new movie, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Freya Allan hopes fans will give Liam Hemsworth a chance in the role.

“I don’t want to speak for him, but from what I’ve understood, I feel like he’s really wanting to try and bring the heart,” Allan said. “He’s been training. I feel sorry for him, honestly, because, number one, that fan base can be very attack-y, and it’s not an ideal situation to be in taking up someone else’s role.”

She added, “But I’m really excited to see what he does. And he’s such a lovely guy. I just hope that people give him the time of day, you know?”

Liam Hemsworth also posted a recent pic of himself on social media and reveals he has become pretty jacked like his brother, Chris Hemsworth, who is known for playing Marvel’s Thor.

“A massive thank you to everyone that has watched Land of Bad! The feedback has been awesome. Extremely grateful for all the love and support!” he said in April referring to his new movie which also stars Russell Crowe, his brother Luke Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle, and Milo Ventimiglia.

Honored to take on the role

Following his announcement as Geralt back in October of 2022, Hemsworth said: “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.”

He added, “Henry [Cavill], I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.

Recently also saw it reported that two planned spinoffs from The Witcher have been canceled, so it seems as if Netflix is ending the franchise on its streaming service.
