The official trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has been released, confirming the sequel will hit theaters on December 5. Blumhouse returns with another installment of animatronic horror based on Scott Cawthon’s popular game series.
Plot Picks Up One Year After Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza
Set one year after the events of the first film, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 follows the fallout from the supernatural incidents at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The town has turned the tragedy into a local festival called Fazfest.
Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) are back, trying to protect Abby (Piper Rubio) by hiding the truth about what really happened. But when Abby sneaks out to find her old animatronic friends—Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy—it sets off a new chain of horrors tied to the origins of Freddy’s.

Returning and New Cast Members
Alongside Hutcherson, Lail, and Rubio, the film brings back Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and Matthew Lillard as William Afton. New cast additions include:
- Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone)
- Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park)
- Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters)
- Skeet Ulrich (Scream)
Creative Team
Emma Tammi returns as director. The script comes from Scott Cawthon, creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s game series. Jason Blum and Cawthon produce, with executive producers Emma Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman.
Box Office Expectations
The original film debuted in October 2023 with an $80 million opening and grossed nearly $300 million worldwide. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 looks to follow that success when it hits theaters on December 5.
